Afgerond Project " Oekraïne"

The courageous Ukrainian people in the current difficult circumstances has inspired me to make a life-size statue that I would like to donate to the Ukrainian people.
The image is a beautiful woman (representing the beautiful Ukraine), in a tattered dress (representing the devastation of the war), making the victory/peace sign with a determined look while showing the Ukrainian flag.
With the symbolism of this image, I hope to give the Ukrainian people a helping hand and to indicate that we also believe in your struggle for justice.

How its done

I started with a few concrete blocks on which I placed the shape of her legs and position of the torso with rebar.
Some slats attached to this, limbs reinforced with polyester/glass fiber, chicken wire formed around it, filled with polyurethane foam, a layer of clay on top, etc.
The statue is covered and reinforced with fiberglass/epoxy resin. The coloring is done by using the epoxy resin pigments (Havana bronze + dark brown).
